It took a decade, but in October 2024, the ribbon was cut at our beautiful new library at 411 Lakeshore Drive (between the Information Center and Red Leaf). A sincere and hearty thank you to everyone who has contributed over the past 10+ years and to our amazing Woodland community for all of the support. Stop by anytime to see the building and meet the staff! We are proud to say that the new library won Vancouver Business Journal’s Top Project as well as their Community Catalyst Award.
Please enjoy this carousel of photos from construction through opening day and beyond.
Going forward with a 7500 square foot building will allow FVRL to bring more services (and more books!) to the community and also reserves the opportunity to expand in the future when more funds may be available. Over the past year, additional money has been allocated to the project, including $1.5 million from FVRL’s capital reserves, and our Foundation has secured an additional $2.5 million in capital grants from the Washington State Legislature in the 2021 and 2022 sessions. In addition, our community stepped up with historic fundraising support.
